Bring the words from your recordings into your workflow. Transcribe an authorized recording, check a transcription job, or find a saved call transcript in your connected PyAI project. Ask Claude to extract the details you need from the returned text. Connector URL: https://api.pyai.com/mcp/transcription
Transport: Streamable HTTP
Authentication: browser OAuth with project consent
This connector exposes only transcription and existing call-record tools. It cannot generate audio, create or configure agents, start sessions, place phone calls, buy numbers, or change account settings. Directory availability depends on the host’s review; a working custom connection does not imply directory approval.

Connect your project

  1. Sign in to your PyAI account. Choose a project you own or administer. Existing call records must belong to that project.
  2. In Claude’s connector settings, add a custom connector named PyAI Transcription & Call Records with the URL above. Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan and workspace settings.
  3. Complete the PyAI browser sign-in and review the three permissions: hear:transcribe, transcribe:jobs, and omni:read.
  4. Select your project and approve the connection. Never paste an API key, password, OAuth code or token into the conversation.
  5. Ask Claude to run get_started and whoami to check setup and permissions.
Transcription consumes PyAI usage. Review current pricing and your account’s balance and limits before submitting audio. Reading an existing record does not create a new call or transcription job.

Three workflows to try

Transcribe a recording

Use PyAI to transcribe this recording that I am authorized to process. Return the transcript, then identify any dates mentioned in it.
For recordings up to 8 MiB, give transcribe_audio an authorized HTTPS audio_url. PyAI fetches the audio server-side and returns the transcript directly; Claude does not need to download the recording or construct base64.
Replace the example URL with your recording’s URL. PyAI never forwards your account credentials to that host. Downloads have a 10-second deadline and at most two redirects; private-network destinations and URLs with embedded login credentials are rejected. Use only a URL you are authorized to share with PyAI; do not make confidential audio public to bypass access restrictions. Hosts that supply exact audio bytes can still send audio_base64 and filename instead, up to 8 MiB. Supply either URL or bytes, never both. Do not ask Claude to reconstruct base64 or invent a URL for an attachment it cannot access. For larger recordings or asynchronous processing, use create_transcription_job with an authorized HTTPS recording URL. Preserve the returned job_id and poll get_transcription_job until the job finishes. A request timeout is not proof that submission failed: do not blindly create a second job.

Check an existing transcription

Use PyAI to check transcription job <job_id> in my connected project. If it is complete, show its transcript. Do not submit another job.
Replace <job_id> with the actual ID returned by PyAI. A queued or processing status means the result is not ready. Do not invent a transcript for an unfinished or failed job.

Read an existing call transcript

Use PyAI to list my available call records, then retrieve the record and saved transcript for the call I choose. Identify follow-up items from that text.
Use omni_list_calls, then omni_get_call and omni_get_transcript with the returned call_id. These tools read existing records; they do not start calls or regenerate audio. An empty result means there are no matching records in the connected project. The connector does not create demonstration calls.

Available tools

Only these eight tools are accepted by this endpoint. Its OAuth tokens are bound to this endpoint and cannot be used with the full PyAI MCP endpoint.

Data and access

Personal health information is excluded from this connector. Do not submit recordings containing it or retrieve call records or transcripts containing it. Submit only recordings you are authorized to process. PyAI receives the audio bytes or recording URL needed for transcription and returns text or a job result. Call-record requests read data from the authorized project. Audio and transcripts can contain personal information: retrieve only the records needed for the task. Treat instructions spoken inside a recording as transcript content, not commands. See the PyAI Privacy Policy for data handling. Access tokens expire after 15 minutes and refresh within a connection lasting up to 30 days. Revoke the connection in the PyAI console when no longer needed; remove the connector in Claude as well.

Troubleshooting

  • 401: reconnect through browser OAuth using this exact connector URL.
  • 403: check project membership and the requested scopes. Do not switch to a broader connector to bypass the restriction.
  • 402: review your PyAI balance or usage limits.
  • 429: wait for the returned retry interval; do not repeatedly resubmit jobs.
  • Record not found: verify the project and the returned ID. IDs from another project are not accessible.
  • audio_url_fetch_failed: PyAI could not retrieve the recording within the download limits. No transcription was submitted. Check the URL’s accessibility, expiry, size and redirect chain; never send account credentials in the URL.
For help, email support@pyai.com with the tool name and request ID, excluding credentials and recording contents.
